Pretty Little Liars Crackpot Theories

The Pretty Little Liars Finale last week was more than dramatic. His show is getting better and better but I’m still not over it that we have still no idea who A is besides a name that gives us no clue at all. I knew we would not get to many answers in this season finale even if it was advertised as the big A reveal; it’s just a name that means nothing to us and that brings up even more questions.

Overview of Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars seems like a stupid teen show about High School girls that are getting bullied. But after a few season the show got really dark and scary. The show revolves around four girls Spencer, Aria, Hannah and Emily. The first season starts with them reconnecting after their friend Alyson disappeared a year ago. Alison was a manipulating bitch and had a lot of enemies. She also tormented the four girls because Ally wanted to rule not being friends with them. A year after Alison disappeared the four girls all got mysterious texts from “A” who was blackmailing them and knew all of their secrets. The girls get into a swirl of liars to cover up A and uncover what happened to Alison.

What happened in the finale of season 5?

After Alison got convicted for murdering Mona the four liars get arrested for assistance in a murder. On the way to prison their van got captured and the girls wake up in A’s dollhouse which seems to be under ground. And surprise, surprise, Mona is alive. I really thought this would happen so I was not at all surprised to see Mona again. But it was creepy to see her dressed up as Alison. A wants the liars to recreate Allies last Prom. They do and try to escape but find themselves in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a big electrical fence. Spencer also has a dream where she finds out the name of A, Charles. So Charles is A and the liars are trapped. The police finally began to believe Toby and with the help of Caleb they find A’s liar. But they have no clue where the girls are.

What’s next?

The show will come back in mid 2015 so there will be 10 episodes in summer. It was already confirmed that the liars will escape from A and will be graduating in these 10 episodes. Somewhere in season 6 there will be a time jump, after graduating from high school the show will jump 4 years. The liars will come back to rosewood after college. There will also be a 7th season in 2016 and it will probably be the last one. I hope we learn more about Charles and why he is tormenting the liars. I’m still not over the fact that A is a completely new person.

enhanced-10308-1427336722-8

The producers of the show promised that A is someone we know and that he is in nearly every episode from early on. This can’t be the case now because we probably don’t know Charles. It was confirmed that we saw his face and the finale episode also got us some clues that Charles last name is DiLaurentis. It seems like Charles is Jason’s long lost twin brother who was probably locked up at Radley because it was also confirmed that Radley will play a big role in the next season. Is Charles even A? We sure hope so. If Charles is really Alison’s brother as Mona found out than where was he? And what is his deal. This could very well be real because there will be a twist with a twin but not the same twist as in the books. In the books Allies twin is A. So maybe this time Jason really gets a twin.

fee73020-b4cc-0132-4593-0ebc4eccb42f

And what’s up with Andrew? He is definitely sketchy but I don’t think he is Charles or A. I think he is just one of A’s minions. But what is his agenda? I really hope none of the liar’s boyfriends are involved with A but I think one of them may be. Just don’t let it be Caleb because he is the best of all boyfriends. Charles could also be Bethany’s twin. He surely must have something to do with Bethany. Maybe he is after the girls to see who killed his sister but I still think Charles is Jason’s brother. Or Jason could be dead and he could actually be Charles but this would be really farfetched. Also what’s Allies deal? What happened to her and what does she know? Maybe Allie got pregnant by Ian and had a kid who she is now protecting. I know this sounds crazy but who knows? Everything can happen in Rosewood.

The Boy Next Door Movie Review

Boy-Next-Dooy-poster-620x400

English version below

Jennifer Lopez is back in the theatre with her new movie The Boy Next Door. The title already reveals that this movie is as generic as it gets. The movie is directed by Rob Cohen and also stars Ryan Cuzman, John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth. Jennifer Lopez plays a high school teacher named Clair who is in the midst of a divorce and has a one night stand with her young neighbour who turns out to be her student and is also very crazy.

the-boy-next-door

So Jennifer Lopez plays an English teacher, focusing on the great classics of literature. Seriously? Jennifer Lopez as an English teacher reading Homer? I just can’t believe her in this role and Kristin Chenweth as the high school principal. I want to see this high school where teachers are so hot. I knew going into this movie, that it will be bad, but bad is just an understatement. It was even worse. It is so badly made. There is a tone of inconsistencies with the script. The guy J Lo bangs is 19, so he is technically an adult, but he is still in high school because his parents died recently and he had to take time off of school. Nice try to not make Jennifer sleep with a minor. But that just makes the whole story more ridiculous. I guess this movie should be a thriller of some kind but it was just plain shameful. The lines are so bad and there is no tension what so ever. It is amazingly boring. The kid J Lo sleeps with is crazy and freaks out a lot but he is not even scary. There is just nothing good in this movie, even the one sex scene was boring.

The Boy Next Door

The only slightly good thing I can see here is that Jennifer Lopez still looks amazing. She got all the soft light to not show how old she really is and she definitely looks like she is in her 30s in The Boy Next door. There were so many moments that bother me but one was so stupid that I have to point it out. Crazy kid gives J Lo a first edition of the Iliad. A FIRST EDITION of the Iliad? Are you freaking kidding me? I could not take this amount of bullshit. There is also a big fire and a car that seems to have been build completely out of dynamite because it explodes so easily it is comical. So yes this movie is as bad as it gets. Don’t watch it, just DON’T.

Messenger of Fear Book Review

mg_tout_here

Mara only knows her name. She wakes up in very strange place full of yellow mist. She has no idea what happened to her. Then she meets the messenger who is dressed completely in black with silver skulls as buttons on his coat. Now the games begin. The messenger sees the darkness in the world and inside humans. He is her to make sure justice is served. If injustice is going unpunished it is the messengers job to offer the wicked a game. Win and they can go free, loose and they will face their greatest fear.

This was my seventh book by Michael Grant. I love his writing style and he definitely knows how to tell a story. But I have to say, his books are extremely violent and this one is especially gruesome. If you do not like gore you should keep your hands off of this book. Michael Grant’s writing is so vivid and realistic that I felt like I was there right with Mara and Messenger. This makes the violent scenes even more intensive. But I love Michael Grant I totally got what he wanted to tell his readers with this story. I do not want to spoil anything so I will not say much. There is a major twist at the end of the book which I kind of saw coming but it was shocking all the same.

Messenger of Fear was such a fast read. I could not put this book down. The story is unbelievable interesting and the tension is there right from the beginning. Even if it is a very short book, I think it will stay a long time in my memory. I loved the philosophical themes in this book and I highly recommend it to fans of Horror and Thriller genres. Also it is beautiful and I love the cover. Make sure that you get this UK edition.

The Affair Series Review

Noah (Dominic West) and Alison (Ruth Wilson) meet one summer in a small resort town in long island. He is a published author and struggles with writing his second book. So he goes on vacation for the summer to find inspiration. Alison is a waitress at a restaurant where she and Noah meet. They both fall immediately for each other. But there are two problems: Noah’s wife and Alison’s husband. This is the premise of the new TV series The Affair. The show is running on Showtime and won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in Television Series Drama (Ruth Wilson) and for Best Television Series Drama. This series is really good and definitely worth giving a try. As of now 10 episodes have aired and the show was renewed for a second season.

THE AFFAIR

Noah is married and has four children with his wife Helen (Maura Tierney). They family survives because Helens money and they are visiting Helens parents in the Hamptons. Noah is constantly reminded that he is not as accomplished as Helens father who is a very successful writer. Noah has to be a teacher to support his family because his writing is not as lucrative as he hoped it will be. Alison has problems of her own. She lost her young child in an accident and can’t stop blaming her husband Cole (Joshua Jackson) for the loss of their child. The two of them became very distant with each other. Also Cole’s family has a lot of money problems with their horse ranch. So Noah and Alison both want to flee their worlds. They give in the desire and passion that is building between them.

bal-dominic-west-showtime-the-affair-adultery-20141010

The unique thing about The Affair is that the story is told separately by different viewing points. Every episode both of them tells their story but details and maybe even some bigger parts are differing from each other. We do not know who is telling the truth or if nothing is the truth at all. The reason for this is a murder. Noah and Alison are both interrogated by a detective and so they both tell him who they met and what led to the murder. After some time it is revealed who was murdered but we don’t get to know how or why this happened. The murderer still is a mystery after this first season. The series ends with a cliffhanger and not many things are resolved. First I thought this storyline will only last a season and that they maybe use a completely different cast and a different premise in the next season that still revolves around some kind of affair. But this is not the case. It seems that there are a lot of bodies buried. There were twists in these 10 episodes that I did not predict. I’m’ not quite sure if the premise is enough for another season or even more. The Affair was tense and interesting in the beginning. It lost its grip midway but can’t be dragged down because of this. The characters are just so well acted and interesting that I can’t wait to see the next season. I hope there will be more resolved because as of now everything is possible. I highly recommend this series. The acting is great and the split perspectives on the story are giving the TV show something truly different. Even when the story sometimes gets a little bit slow it is such a tense show and you easily get addicted.

The Mara Dyer Trilogy – Bookdiscussion

Mara Dyer wakes up in a hospital and has no memory of what happened to her. Her parents tell her that she was in an accident in which her friends died and she was left unharmed. But weird things start happening to Mara and so she thinks there is more to that accident than people are telling her. Over the course of three books Mara Dyer tries to find answers and experiences a lot of strange stuff. Michelle Hodgkin is the authors behind the Mara Dyer books and I really have to thank her for them. They were a great book series to read. All three books were fast paced; action packed but also had intense scenes without action. I’ve read the three Mara Dyer books in one week which is very fast for me because I’m a slow reader. So the Mara Dyer books were a great reading experience for me.

11408650The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

The first book in the Mara Dyer Series introduces us to Mara. She is a teenager who suffered from a severe trauma but she has no memory of it. To get a fresh start she moves to Florida with her family. In Florida she meets Noah who does seem to know her very well already. I loved the first book. It was so suspenseful and creepy at some times. I could not put this book down it was way to gripping. It is a psychological thriller with a few paranormal elements. Mara is an untrustworthy narrator. You do not know what is real and what is really happening. Michelle Hodgkin does a great job with the setup of the story. Also her dialog is hilarious and so full of sarcasm. I especially loved the snarky dialog scenes between Mara and Noah. There are a lot of twists in this book. Some of them are quite expected other were totally unexpected and caught me off guard. That was all for my non-spoiler review so if you have not read the book and if you do not want to get spoiled, don’t read any further.

!!!SPOILER!!!

Very annoying was that some characters are full of stereotypes. Noah is your typical bad boy which will be redeemed by Mara. I know this kind of thing is trending right now in YA literature but I don’t like it at all. Also Mara’s friend Jamie is full of clichés. He is a black gay guy who is adopted. Can it get even more stereotypical? And then there is Mara and Noah’s relationship. I loved that they took it slow. It was not instalove. But Mara’s greatest problem is that she first thinks she is not good enough for Noah and then fears of hurting him. That’s really frustrating. And sometimes the times where Noah and Mara get physical were kind of inappropriate. Like when Mara drinks the animal blood and wakes up in Noah’s bedroom. The first thing they are doing is getting it on? Is that really the situation for that? But besides those minor flaws I loved this book and I was never bored with it. I immediately bought the next two books. I would recommend buying all three books at once because the first two books are ending with major cliff hangers.

!!!SPOILER!!!

843762The Evolution of Mara Dyer

The second picks up where the first book left off. Mara wakes up in the psych ward of the hospital. She has to drop out of school and go to an outpatient program which is run by the suspicious Dr.Kells. This book is even creepier than the first one. It’s so frustrating that no one beliefs Mara. I wanted to throw this book against a wall. Every time Mara’s life starts to improve something unbelievable cruel or unfair happens to her. It was so frustrating and depressing. Mara is living in a total nightmare. You can also not trust Mara because who really knows what is real and what not? I thought the ending was great. I did not see it coming. But there were too little explanations. A wanted a few more answers because there were a lot more questions. But the few answers we got were very well interwoven with the story and fit in perfectly. I also loved the chapters of Mara’s Grandmother which were so interesting. I wanted to read more and more of her and her life.

!!!SPOILER!!!

15768409The Retribution of Mara Dyer

The last book of Mara Dyer left me wanting more. I wanted more explanations, more answers and more of the story. It was a good conclusion to the story but it was not great. I will not say too much about the plot because you should really go into this reading experience without knowing too much. The book was super fast paced. Mara did go through a lot of character development and was really bad ass here. But maybe she was a little bit too ruthless. I know it gets explained why she is so hardcore but still. The last book was darker and more depressing than the first two but there were still a few funny and snarky dialog scenes which I loved. I had a few issues with the ending. I hate when last books in a series starting switching perspectives. We never got Noah’s perspective in the first two books but now right at the ending there we have it. We are in Noah’s head. So basically this means Mara dies and we need Noah’s perspective to narrate the end. Or does it? I hate it when something like this happens. We had it in Allegiant and it was awful. It also does not work in the Retribution. I also felt that there were too many loose ends that were not tied up. And what is up with Noah’s powers? He can cure cancer and change the world? How!!?? I wanted to know more of the powers. Where are they coming from? I wanted more details about the powers and about Mara’s Grandmothers life. I just wanted more backstory. And if Jamie can manipulate people, why did his parents not belief him? And where is Stella? What is up with Mara’s family? How did the capsules get into Maras body without a scar? As you can see I had a lot of questions. Or maybe I did not pay a lot of attention so correct me if some of these things were explained.

The ending was too rushed for me. And after dying and coming back from the dead Mara and Noah decide to get to the apartment and have sex? Well ok I guess they are teenagers. So we get the sexy chapter and then directly after it comes the epilogue? That is way too fast. And also after everything that has happened and after discovering that Mara and Noah are so important and that their powers are so intense they decide that they do not care about the world and the misery they could end. They just want to be together. I waited the whole time that Mara has an epiphany and leaves after some time together to help Noah heal the world. But NO. They want to be a couple and that is all. So even if I wanted to see them get together this ending falls flat for me.

Nightcrawler

Was gerade wenn man viele Filme sieht erfrischend wirkt.
