Completed Series Part 1Veröffentlicht: 1. März 2015
I love to read book series because you have more time to get to know the characters and the story can really developed. I do also love stand alones but series have a special place in my heat. Here are some of the book series, I’ve read so far:
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling
This will always be my favourite series ever. I love these books and it was an amazing experience to grow up with Harry. These books will forever be something very special for me and I re-read them all the time.
Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
I have never read another book saga that was so rich in details and story than The Lord of The Rings. J. R. R. Tolkien created not only a world but a complete history for this world as well as languages. I can never forget this amazing story and I still want to life in the Shire with the Hobbits.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
I loved this series and am obsessed about Warner. This is my favourite dystopian series, not because there is action or great world building. In Shatter Me you will find the most distinct character development ever and the most realistic version of a love triangle I have ever seen.
The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
This was the first series by Cassandra Clare I’ve ever read. First I was a bit reluctant because I did not get why everyone loved this series so much. It was so for me. But after the first few books I got into it and suddenly I could not stop reading. I know I will read everything that is set in the Shadowhunter World because Clare is a master in world building and dialog. Especially great world building is very seldom in YA.
The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
Like The Mortal Instruments, I also loved The Infernal Devices. I’m not a fan of love triangles but the one in this books was more than that, it was such a strong bond between three people that got to me and had me in tears at the end. I cried so much while reading the last book, I became really emotional. So if you like The Mortal Instruments or you just love Urban Fantasy check out this series.
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I’ve read the whole Maze Runner series in a short amount of time. The books are fast paced and a quick read. But there is NO world building, really none. Also there are no explanations only in the last book of the trilogy. And even then we don’t get all the answers we are waiting for because there is a prequel coming out. So for me it is not a trilogy but a series containing four books. I would not recommend these books because the plot is just ridicules.
Unwind Dystology by Neal Schusterman
I loved the Unwind books. They were one of the first YA series I’ve started and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end of the last book. The plot is so complex and interesting it completely drew me in. There is a lot of world building which I loved and even if Unwind draws a horrifying picture of our future, it is extremely realistic. If you want to read a YA series with depth and social commentary check these four books out.
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
I wanted to read this trilogy so bad and liked the first book very much but did not love it. As the series progressed my interest in it wore off. I did not like the writing style and found it very confusing. Also the ending didn’t resolve a lot so I was very disappointed with this series. But the first book is still good so maybe you want to make up your mind by yourself and try out these books.
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
I really liked this series. The first book is amazing and even if the last book is kind of a stretch I still liked it. The ending was terrible though. I loved that you don’t know what is real and I also really liked the flashbacks in the books. The whole theme and plot was intriguing to me. There was inst-love which I’m not a fan of but Mara is a great character nevertheless. If you like mystery you should definitely check this one out.
